Posted by admin Comments off

There has been an explosion of new rap and hip hop artists over the past ten years. This list contains the top ten most popular artists of the decade.

The number one rapper of the decade is Lil Wayne. Lil wayne has made over 48 albums and his songs have been on the Hot 100 billboard charts countless times. He has also done many collaborations with some of the worlds top artists. Lil wayne is considered, by many, to be the best rapper alive.

Number two on the top 10 list would be the artist of the early 2000′s would be Jay-Z. Jay-Z has been in the rap game for a long time. This 40 year old New Yorker currently has the #1 chart position with his song “Empire State Of Mind” featuring Alicia Keys.

The number three artist of the decade is Eminem. This white rapper from the streets of Detroit was considered to be very controversial by many critics. Eminem was discovered by Dr.Dre and his first album Slim Shady LP was awarded the 2000 grammy award for best rap album. His song “My Name Is” was nominated for best rap solo performance at the 2000 Grammy Awards.

Number four on the list of rap and hip hop artists is 50 cent. 50 cent rose to fame after being shot nine times in the city of Queens, New York . This rapper is one of the most popular artists of the decade. He is not only a rapper but an entrepreneur as well. He has his own clothing line and has starred in his hit movie, which was named after his first album, “Get Rich Or Die Tryin”.

The fifth artist on the top 10 raps his way from Atlanta, Georgia. T.I. started his rapping career at age seven and was signed to Arista Records when he was just a teenager. In 2008 His album, “Paper Trail”, went double platinum selling over 2,000,000 copies world wide. T.I. has also played roles in the movies like “ATL” and “American Gangster”. T.I. is also known to many as “The King Of The South”.

The number six rapper on our list is The Game. The Game was originally signed to Aftermath Entertainment, but soon left after a dispute with 50 cent. The Game’s album LAX was debuted at number two on Billboard 200.
This rapper has also succeeded in fame by starring in movies such as “Street Kings” and “Waist Deep”.

Rapper Young Jeezy is the number seven on the list. Young Jeezy is a member of the hip hop group USDA and a former member of Boyz N Da Hood. Young jeezy’s first solo album Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 debuted at number two selling, 172,000 copies in its very first week.

Ludacris is the number eight. Ludacris is the highest-selling southern solo hip hop artist of all time averaging over 17 million units sold in the United States, and 24 million sold worldwide. He is also the co-founder of Disturbing The Peace label.

Number nine on the list is Gucci Mane. Gucci Mane is the CEO of So Icy Entertainment. He has written hit tracks like “Wasted” feat. Plies and “So Icy” feat. Young Jeezy.

Finally, the number ten artist of the decade is Soulja Boy Tell’ Em, or simply Soulja Boy. Soulja Boy has been nominated for many awards such as hit song “Crank That Soulja Boy” in 2008 at the Grammy Awards. He was also nominated for best new artist at the 2007 BET awards.

Hip Hop Has Become Disgusting

Posted by admin Comments off

I listen to the radio and I get sick, not from the mass doses of the same beat or the same dingy old re-hashed guitar notes and some levis jeans model whaling away about a new change in life or whatever positive message 16 year old half wits wanna hear.  I’m not very old but In 10 years the music industry behind the only music other than jazz to originate in America.  Like it or not it is part of us.  10 years ago we had artists like dave mathews band and dr. dre and Eminem, you know superstars.  Even though I’m not a big fan of commericail rap, ie(eminem, jeezy, t.i) but I do understand that we need spokesman for the game as a whole.  Corporate fatcats in the music industry have figured that they are tired of signing world artists to produce half of the sales generated by US artists when they could just take the youths music and slowly tweak it into dance, and if you have ever been over seas you will know how freaking popular dace is there.  Even in the hash bars in amsterdam they have full fleged blaring euro-tech playing anyway.  I’m a producer of rap music as well as a die hard fan.  My intrests are a little more out there though, I like a lot of El-p and aesop rock style.  Lyrical geniuses who make their own music regardless of sales.  It is repulsive though to see such a vast artform slowly undergoing the conformity and commercialism that the record companies so desperately need.  If you have a sensible bone in your body you will turn off that crappy radio station that is playing the same song time in and time out, boycott it change music as we know it.  It’s amazing how much people listen to that crap over and over again.  If you think I’m just rambling, I am but listen to a pussycat dolls song and listen to all the re-hashed references to 80′s songs.  They are the Carlos Mencia of the Music world and I feel bad for all the people who created thoses songs for only a fraction of what they will see.  Seriously people boycott this crap for your kids sake, unless you want them to be listening to this crap when they are 35 calling it oldies??????? scary huh.  Check out some of my other posts if you like: Poker, XBOX360, Hip Hop, Company flow, Aesop Rock, Def Jux, Dickies, I-Path, and all types of cool urban underground stuff.  PEace out.

Best Sports Anthems: A Look at some of Sports Greatest Anthems

Posted by admin Comments off

Music has been a major part of humans since the beginning of time. It triggers feelings such as sadness, happiness, anger, silliness, and with some of the current varieties of electronica, possibly even confusion or brain damage. Ok, maybe not that…

When it comes to sports, some songs just get you more motivated  than others. These are ten of the best sports anthems.  Please note that I have excluded any college fight songs and am going with mainstream music.

10 Let’s Get it Started – Black Eyed Peas.

This song was used during the NBA Finals a few years ago.  Awesome sports anthem to get a game underway.

09 2 Unlimited – Get Ready for This.

This anthem can be used for basically any part of the game. Great opening and has a nice groove to follow.

08. Remember the Name – Fort Minor.

The lyrics could not be more associated with sports.  A true modern day sports anthem.

07 Final Countdown – Europe.

This is a great sports anthem right when you are getting underway. I prefer it right at the beginning of the final period.

06 Rock N Roll Part 2: Gary Glitter.

Over 35 years and fans still chant to this song. A classic sports anthem that can work during any part of the game.

05 We are the Champions – Queen.

Everyone knows when this sports anthem gets played.

04 Welcome to the Jungle – Guns & Roses

This sports anthem servers as a great entrance.  It is great for any team that supports a creature that can be found in the jungle.  Definitely one of my favorite songs to get pumped up too.

03 Nah Nah Hey Hey…. Steam.

The ultimate anthem of defeat. While it may not be everyone’s favorite sport anthem, it is the one that everyone wants to be signing at the end of the day.

02 Till I Collapse – Eminem. This sports anthem could be replaced with “We Will Rock You” by Queen. They are pretty similar so that is why I am going rescind from putting Queen’s song on this list and use the one that motivates Michael Phelps.

01 Enter Sandman – Metallica. Just watch a Virginia Tech football game or even go to one.

Honorable mentions:

Kremkraft 400 – Zombie Nation
Lose Yourself – Eminem
Eye of the Tiger – Survivor
Jump – House of Pain
Tub Thumping – Chumbawamba
Whomp! There it is – Tag Team
YMCA – Village Boys
Darude – Sandstorm
Song 2- Blur
Bang on the Drum All Day – Todd Rundgren
Omaha Stylee – 311 (for any team in Omaha, NE)

Drug Addiction: Coming to a Loved One Near You

Posted by admin Comments off

Addictions can be deadly. I should have been dead already, many times over, from overdoing Opiates, Methadone, Liquid G, Roll (Exstacy), Cocaine, and the Queen that locked me in the tower, Crystal Meth. I sincerely hope I can intelligently warn others in a powerful manner to never try any drug, not even those which everyone sees as “low-grade,” or basically “non-addictive.”

Even if a drug’s addiction rate is not very significant, it’s the behavior which can be. See, even now, there are those readers who are justifying getting high by telling themselves “Okay, I just won’t get to that point.” Do you think I planned to allow it to get to any further point than anyone would want to go? Do those unfortunate, strung out millions crying while repetitiously and unsuccessfully attempting to find a vein that is not collapsed so they can insert a needle someone who wanted to be where they find themselves?

But we have grown pompous and arrogant and fearless while listening to Hollywood’s many lies, and our instant gratification urges make us believe we can conquer anything and deserve to get high once in a while. I often forgot that we do not control drugs. They control us.

The moment you try a drug for any reason different than what a pharmaceutical is prescribed for (and there is never any reason to try an illicit drug), your life, your limits, your past goals and beliefs, change. There’s a door opened that was not even there before. Whether you are sad or anxious or even happy, you will eventually find an excuse to get high again. That door will be there.

Stuck inside during a winter storm with no power and nothing to do? Bored silly? That door will loom in front of you. Did your Grandmother pass away? That door is there. It’s the ultimate comfort and ultimate enemy in one happy package.

Once you use a drug enough times, after the addiction begins its course and all you think of when you get up in the morning (if you go to bed at all or are not on Crystal Meth) is getting high in order to face the day, it becomes difficult to find natural joy in things without that substance. After a while, you cannot find joy at all, even when high. That’s when most people “graduate” to the method of “running” or “banging” (intravenous usage) their DOC (drug of choice).

I have seen people get away from “the needle” and quit successfully, but not often. Actually, I only know of one person who did, who is now a counselor here in Birmingham. So how many have I known that did not? Hundreds. And unfortunately, many of those hundreds usually find that they have already contracted Hepatitis or HIV. This creates a bigger reason to just keep on using.

And on a side note, Hepatitis does not only come from shared intravenous usage. Opiates, such as Lortab, or its “cure,” the legal government drug deal, Methadone, can wear on the body to such a degree that the liver is exposed to Hepatitis. I knew a couple of clients at a local Methadone clinic who died from Hep C, and they never touched a needle. Also, an intravenous user who leaves a syringe with blood still in it for a later use can get Hep C, as if catching it from themselves!

As well, “Banging,” “Shooting Up,” or “Running” a drug becomes another addiction in and of itself. I have known people who, when unable to get Meth, would shoot up water, any pill they could find, or even the oil from peanut butter, to satiate the actual addiction of shooting something. So the method or ritual of using becomes a habit as strong as the addiction itself.

Sometimes the habit of how one used a drug is just as addictive. After having been about a year without Crystal Meth and OC’s (Oxycontin: also called “Redneck Heroin,”) I remember missing the ritual of pouring the Meth out on foil and smoking it by inhaling the smoke through a straw or Pen casing . . . . damn, just to snort something! I really did not miss the drug itself, or the high, as much as I missed the ritual of the method I used it. I didn’t crave the ritual as one would crave a drug, but I missed it, nonetheless.

Drugs are glamorized in this country in every form of entertainment, in school, and even in doctor’s offices. Need to lose weight? Tada! Here’s you some Phentermine! Now you can get addicted to speed! Need to calm down and relax more? Tada! Here’s you some Xanax or Valium. Now you can get addicted to Benzos and Downers! Don’t cross the two! Don’t cross with alcohol! Have minimal pain that Tylenol would probably cure? Tada! Here’s some Lorcet! Still hurting? Here’s some Lorcet Plus! Still hurting? Here’s some OC 10′s! Still hurting? Here’s some OC 20′s… and by then, it’s apparent that Mama ain’t hurtin’ no more. If she is, it’s because she’s “without,” (does not have any pills).

Outside of “doc shopping” (playing sick to obtain pills), there are other avenues in which drugs are introduced to society: music artists, movies, and even the slang we use to converse in this country. “Why you trippin’?” To “trip” refers to using acid or LSD. “Take a chill pill!” “Dude, why you crackin’ on me?” “Chickenhead!”

Furthermore, we protect the “artistic expression” of musicians like Dayton Family, Eminem, and others who suggest a lifestyle that is the exact opposite of what our laws command us to obey. And their “artistic expression” is protected by the very law they seem to despise.

Our children grow up believing it is cool to be “balling” (a drug dealer making a fortune) but the moment they implement the lifestyle that popular music idols proclaim as “cool,” they get locked up for it. How completely stupid is this? Do the musical artists need to express their artistic views protected by the constitution so bad that many young lives get wrapped up in the real criminal world, believing it will be like Eminem’s life?

Sounds like a hard fight, this battle against drugs entering your life, huh? It is. All the pamphlets in the world can tell you how to try to keep your kids off drugs, how to be there for them if they develop an addiction to something, and how to find affordable rehabilitative recovery for them, but until you experience it, nothing will prepare you. Their life, your life, will never be the same. They will never view the world the same as before.

Don’t get me wrong, after having enough “clean-time” (period of time between quitting a drug and starting again or starting another kind), there is a natural joy for and enjoyment of life again. Before being clean, eventually that thing that whispers tells them “I will never again be happy without some substance in me.” That thing that whispers (because I am not sure how else to explain it) stops screaming in their ear (yes, it SCREAMS), after enough clean time, and they adapt to life without chemicals.

They must stay in recovery classes or group-setting classes, or in my opinion, they will relapse. There is no cure. It’s a disease you keep for life, if it truly is a disease. That door, the one opened when they first tried a drug, never closes. Ever. They must keep avoiding the door by use of barriers and boundaries (i.e. don’t go back to the dealer’s area or neighborhood; don’t go back to old party places; find out what triggers a craving and never do or hear or smell or see whatever that trigger was again). This is hard but it is possible.

For instance, one of my “triggers” was the Nextel chirp of a Direct Connect phone made by Motorola. Because I had not only been an addict, but also a dealer, clients would “key up” my phone when they needed to purchase something,. Once clean, the chirping sound heard from one of these phones triggered memories associated with that sound and using/dealing. For a moment, in my mind, I was pulled back to a life of being high whenever I wanted, however much I wanted, whatever I wanted.

The moment passed, of course, when my wiser side reminded me of Julia Tutwiler Prison, here in Alabama. Consequences must play a role in recovery, I am a firm believer in that. I do not believe the consequence should be prison for many drug crimes, though.

Likewise, the recovering addict must stay busy. Many mainstream Christian Recovery Programs (and a GREAT one is Celebrate Recovery) have a somewhat different view of this, but I believe you can merge your Christian beliefs with staying busy. It’s a must. “Idle hands,” and all that jazz.

So, I have constantly asked myself through the years, why does anyone try that first drug, having all this information on the subject? The same reason I did, I suppose. No one believes they could ever become addicted to it like that junkie guy. They see pictures of cocaine addicts on the side of the road with their noses half rotted off and that’s so unlike them that they firmly believe they could never be there. They do not see the guy who first tried cocaine, and realize he is from the same social class, likes the same music they do, wore the same brand clothing, had good parents. All they see is an impossibility which further fuels their belief that they will never become addicted. Not like that. They do not realize that the end results of addiction takes many forms, usually death. But showing them the tombstones of those end results, though they are so very numerous, is also an impossibility to them. So we are sometimes without answers, outside of prayer,

I believe. I was fortunate and blessed to have had a good childhood. I went to private schools, and not because I was kicked out of public schools, either. In the eighties, students actually went to private schools to have a better education, and not because no public school wanted them back. I came from a background which was not littered with bad impressions or bad relatives or black sheep of the family going to jail. It was stable, good, loving, and fair. Though there are many “at risk” cases who grow up to use drugs, mine was not anywhere close to anything “at risk.”.

It can happen to anyone. Addictions are deadly. There are so many ways to die, as well: emotional death, mental death, a love for life dies, hopes and dreams die. Just because a person cannot fathom a tombstone in their future does not mean an addiction will not kill them and leave them alive physically. It happened to me. It will happen to others. it will happen to someone you know. Be ready to ride a very long ride with them if you love them.

*winning* With Branding

*Winning* With Branding

If I were to ask you what K.D. was, you would undoubtedly
know it is a short form associated with Kraft Dinner. There
probably aren’t many people who have not heard of “Kraft
Dinner” or who have not eaten it at one point in their life. In
fact, if I was to ask you to take a look in your cupboard now,
chances are, the majority of you would even have a box of
it in there!

If asked you who Eminem was, the chances are, you would
know who he was too. You may NOT exactly like him or his
music, but the fact is, you still know WHO he his. There’s no
possible way you could miss hearing about him, as he is the
most talked about “BAD Boy Rapper” currently in the music
industry today.

Now, I am certainly not going to tell you to go out and break
the law to make yourself famous online. Because you want
to be able to actually spend all YOUR hard earned money!
Although branding yourself *effectively* consists of a lot of
work, it isn’t worth that kind of fame. If you apply the correct
techniques it will not seem like much “work” at all! Now that
we have that covered I’m going to tell you, what has worked
for ME.

When I first became a publisher – I was “widely known” for
my “tell it like it is – attitude”. In fact, if you were to go to my
site and read all the
testimonials, that’s exactly what you would read. My fellow
publishers loved the fact that I had the “guts” to tell people
what I really thought and because they liked my demeanor,
they would send me “referred subscribers” on a regular
basis.

Most people are familiar with me because I co-authored a
best selling ebook with Jimmy D. Brown, (Ezine Resource
Guide). But despite that there were a lot of people who still
had NO idea who I was. So, I began writing a lot of articles
on a VERY controversial subject – “SPAM”, which in turn,
gave me the opportunity of becoming a “Featured Writer”
for one of the internet’s most “prominent” ezines – DEMC.

If you want to WIN with Branding, this is what YOU need to do:

1.) Give people ONE thing that they can associate YOUR
name with. And as an eg., the VERY first thing that people
see in my signature file is – Laurie Rogers is the Co-Author
of Ezine Resource Guide. Hundreds, if NOT thousands of
people own that book, so when people read it, they know
right off the bat, WHO I AM.

2.) Don’t be afraid to step outside YOUR comfort zone at
times to get “KNOWN”. Write about popular topics, BUT
use a different approach than other people do. Compare
topics to applicable scenarios that you see in “real life”,
just as I did above with “Kraft Dinner and Eminem”. Make
your article one to REMEMBER!

3.) Express YOUR TRUE feelings to your audience and be
YOURSELF, you will get more referrals and RESPECT for
it in the long run.

3.) Be CONSISTENT! Just as it does with everything else,
being consistent PAYS OFF in the long run. This is exactly
where people FAIL because they are NOT consistent with
their efforts. They don’t advertise on a regular basis, which
means LESS sales – Branding works the exact same way,
the more promotion you do, the more recognition you will
receive.

By using the techniques above, YOU can easily WIN with
BRANDING – I guarantee it.

Ufc 113 Entrance Song List: Lil’ Wayne, Skynyrd And More

Posted by admin Comments off

UFC 113 is underway and there have been some notable UFC 113 entrance songs so far. The UFC 113 entrance song list early on ranges from Eminem to Lynyrd Sknyrd and Drake, showcasing

the various styles and personalities in the sports league in Montreal.

The UFC 113 entrance song list is not complete right now as the event is still ongoing but here are some of the more recognizable UFC 113 entrance songs we’ve heard as the fighters have entered the cage.

Entrance Song List

Matt Mitrione Entrance Song- “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The former Purdue Boilermaker and NFL defensive linemen came out to this standby entrance song which seems to fit his personality, except when he flips out on his training partners and opponents, that is.

Mitrione’s entrance song is the same as Mike Brown from the WEC, the former featherweight title holder.

Sam Stout entrance song- “Go to Sleep” by Eminem

An aggressive song by the Detroit emcee was the choice of the Canadian Stout in his battle with Jeremey Stephens.

Jeremey Stephens UFC 113 entrance song- Forever (Remix) by Drake ft. ‘Lil Wayne

A relaxing rap/R&B hit that has been all over top 40 radio for a long time, this UFC 113 entrance song has been done before.

Josh Koscheck entrance song- Higher Ground by Red Hot Chili Peppers

The UFC 113 entrance song list pt. 1 concludes with this classic alternative song and Koscheck’s signature walk-out track.

But Stephens seemed to respond well to the vibe of this UFC 113 entrance song. The UFC 113 entrance song list featured a lot of unique songs that were hard to decipher in addition to these well-known favorites as well, so look out for the next lists to see what the other fighters came out to in Montreal.

How to tell if your girlfriend is gay

Posted by admin Comments off

Relationships – either friend or more than that – always have some level of drama. Finding out that your special girl is secretly a lesbian is one of the most extreme examples of this. Here are some warning signs that can tell if your girlfriend is playing for the other team.

Interest in lesbian-friendly music. Certain bands and singers carry some strong connotations. Be on the look out for Tori Amos , KD Lang, T.A.T.U., the Indigo Girls, Melissa Ethridge, or Katy Perry . Of course, many straight girls like these bands too, so this one doesn’t prove things either way.

Anime. It looks cartoony and childish to the outsider, but in truth, many anime shows have surprisingly graphic homo-erotic elements. Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, and Bubblegum Crisis are particularly out there in terms of the content. A real red flag is if she watches the original Japanese versions as the American versions frequently edit out controversial content.

Fan Fiction. Like anime, a surprisingly amount of fan fiction has homosexual elements. There is, of course, heterosexual fan fiction too, but fan fiction sites are famous for having large sections devoted to graphic homosexual content .

Softball. Softball has become to some lesbians what theater is to gay men. Obviously not all women who like softball are lesbians, but if she’s not, some of her teammates almost certainly are .

Jokingly flirting with girls. This should be a no brainer. Lots of people use jokes to say what they wish they could say seriously without having to deal with the ramifications of meaning it.

Conservative Christianity. On the other side of the coin, others chose to cover up their homosexuality with homophobia . Be on the look out for repeated remarks about how “gross,” “sinful,” or “nasty” lesbians are. If she says all these, she might as well as add “naughty” to the list.

Rainbows. This should be a dead giveaway. If she has rainbow logos or buttons, it’s probably not “just because she supports gay rights.” It’s likely because she wants others to know she’s a lesbian just not you.
